Domestic Substitution Accelerates with New National Standards Regulating the Industry
In May 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other authorities promoted the localization upgrade of auto parts for new energy vehicles, while a number of mandatory national standards were officially implemented. Relevant policies encourage enterprises to conduct independent R&D and cut operational costs via preferential tax policies. The industry is guided to develop in a standardized, compliant and high-end direction. Industry insiders believe that the advancement of domestic substitution will break the monopoly of foreign brands and help local auto parts manufacturers gain larger shares in the high-end market.
